Tick-tock-tick-tock

Tick-Tock Muhammad: something
else to get Muslims jumping

We’ve all seen the “Turbomb” picture – the one that was published (among others) a few years ago by the Danish paper Jyllands-Posten and upset Muslims so much that they started killing people. Now there’s a new take on it.

The ESHE streetware clothing company in Australia has produced a series of images, including the T-shirt you see here (called “Tick-Tock Muhammad”), one called “Pedo Pope” and some wallpaper of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Gay or straight, why not join our discussion list?

The owners of this blog, the UK gay Humanist charity the Pink Triangle Trust (PTT), has launched a new online magazine, The Pink Humanist.

The magazine is aimed, as the title suggests, at humanists who are gay or gay-friendly.

The Pink Triangle Trust (PTT) also published Gay & Lesbian Humanist magazine, more commonly known as G&LH. From 1994 to 2005, G&LH was a print-only magazine, and was published quarterly. From 2008 to 2010, G&LH it was published as an online-only magazine.

All archive issues are still available online, and can be accessed from this link or by clicking on the logo above.

The Pink Triangle Trust is a UK charity (number 1015629) set up in 1992 to advance the education of the public, and particularly of lesbians and gay men, in the principles and practice of Humanism, and to advance the education of the public, and particularly of Humanists, about all aspects of homosexuality.

One vehicle for this purpose is the online Gay & Lesbian Humanist magazine.

Pink Triangle is a forum provided by the Trust for the discussion and interchange of ideas concerning Humanism as it relates to gay and lesbian issues, and how gay and lesbian issues relate to Humanism. But gay and lesbian issues and those concerning Humanism don't exist in a bubble: they are part of the wider world. Hence, there will be scope for broad discussion on these and related ethical issues.

This blog will feature news of relevant issues, with or without comment from the author, and hopes to generate lively discussion in the comments area. For more on the blog, see the “Welcome” post from March 2008.

We welcome lively and challenging comments. However, please try to stay on topic, be polite and do not use abusive, racist or sexist language, and do not incite your readers to violence or other antisocial behaviour, or your comment will be deleted.

We do not bar anonymous comments at the moment, but we would prefer that those commenting play fair and used their name or at least a regular nom de plume. It does show a confidence in your convictions. We know, too, that it's easy to use a false name and be effectively anonymous, but, again, we appeal to your sense of good practice. Even a wacky nom de plume is better, since at least readers will come to know that contributor and maybe remember her or his previous comments.
